Vinyl & CD Grading at Festival Trade.

MINT (New)
Perfect in every way. It has never been played and is usually not wrapped or sealed.

NEAR MINT (NM)
The vinyl may have been opened but played once! This is called "As New" Wrapping plastic may still be present. The record looks open but has no other signs of use.

EXCELLENT (EX)
The vinyl has been open and played but is very clean and well cared for. No scratches or marks are shown. No background noise. The record hasn't been played many times but signs of playing can be present—no damage to the cover or inlays.

VERY GOOD PLUS (VG+)
The vinyl is very good in general. A few faults are acceptable, but nothing compromises the record visually or audibly. Little light inaudible marks and a little background crackle may occur. The record has been well-kept.

VERY GOOD (VG)
The vinyl has been played many times. It may have some clicks and pops and some light-visible scratches. You can still listen to it and enjoy it with no listening fails but it is visually and audibly USED.

GOOD PLUS (G+)
A vinyl in Good or Good Plus condition can be played without skipping. But it will have significant surface noise, scratches, and visible groove wear. A cover or sleeve will have seam splits, especially at the bottom or on the spine. Tape, writing, ring wear, or other defects will be present. While the record will be playable without skipping, noticeable surface noise and "ticks" will almost certainly accompany the playback.
